Samus Aran is the main protagonist of the Metroid franchise and an intergalactic bounty hunter. She occasionally makes crossover appearances with the Wario franchise, with her first Wario-related appearance being in the Nintendo Power comic Mario vs. Wario: The Birthday Bash, albeit in the form of a doll that Mario and Wario are fighting over to try and impress Princess Peach. She is also featured within various 9-Volt and 18-Volt microgames in the WarioWare series, and is a playable fighter in every game within the Super Smash Bros. series, in which Wario made his playable debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Whenever Samus is not wearing her Varia Suit or similar, she is known as Zero Suit Samus.
History[edit]
Mario vs. Wario: The Birthday Bash[edit]
In Mario vs. Wario: The Birthday Bash, Samus is featured in the form of the Samus Doll, a central element to the story. When both Mario and Wario are considering what to get Princess Toadstool for her birthday, they remember her thinking the doll was cute when passing by the toy store on the way to the park. However, both of them are told someone with "a big, black mustache" bought the last doll and try to sabotage each other, though in the end Luigi is the one who bought the doll for the princess.
WarioWare series[edit]
It has been requested that this section be rewritten and expanded to include more information.
Samus also appears in the WarioWare games, where she appears in microgames modeled after levels from the Metroid games.
A list of the microgames Samus prominently appeared in include:

- Metroid-Morph Ball (WarioWare: Twisted!)
- Metroid-Samus (WarioWare: Twisted!)

Samus Aran is the theme of the 14th Miiverse Sketch Masterpiece Collection video, a promotional series of videos for Game & Wario in which the WarioWare cast comments on drawings made in the game's Miiverse Sketch mode. Samus' video is commented by 9-Volt.
